Shalelu Andosana — The Ranger

Shalelu Andosana

Shalelu Andosana

Identity

  • **Name:** Shalelu Andosana _(confirmed from session notes — see lore-conflicts.md Beat 5)_
  • **Species:** Elf
  • **Class:** Ranger
  • **Alignment:** Presumed good (ally of Sandpoint)
  • **Role:** Self-appointed monitor of goblin activity along the Lost Coast; unofficial ally to Sandpoint

First Appearance

The party met Shalelu Andosana on the return from the first ship (the Kaijitsu Star), after Vorka's death. She was not immediately hostile, which was unusual for an encounter with goblins. They exchanged words. She mentioned a farm — a specific farm, a specific situation involving a pig. The party filed this away and continued home.

Significance

  • Her mention of the farm led directly to the Squealy Nord recovery mission.
  • Her appearance connects the campaign to the Rise of the Runelords narrative framework: in RotR, Shalelu monitors goblin activity along the Lost Coast and acts as an unofficial ally to Sandpoint. She would have known about the Thistletop cult threat. Her involvement here suggests she was directing the party toward the Thistletop situation — this is the Archivist's confirmed analysis (lore-conflicts.md Beat 5).
  • She is described in the campaign account as making it her business to know what was moving through this stretch of coast.

Relationship to the Party

  • Not hostile on first meeting — unusual for an elf dealing with goblins.
  • Exchanged information. Gave them the farm tip.
  • No subsequent appearances recorded in the campaign account, but she remains a known NPC with established relationship status.

Notes (from RotR source)

In Rise of the Runelords, Shalelu is introduced as an experienced elven ranger who has spent years learning about the five goblin tribes near Sandpoint, motivated partly by personal loss (her stepfather Jakardros Sovark was killed by Bruthazmus, the bugbear at Thistletop). She visits Sandpoint periodically, brings information about goblin movements, and receives meals and lodging. She does not live in the town. She is described as self-sufficient and dangerous, with a longbow and significant goblin-hunting experience.

Her RotR stats are not recorded in the extracted source — she is an ally NPC, not a combat encounter.

Status

Active. Last seen on the return from the Kaijitsu Star. Not encountered again in the recorded campaign account. Alive and operating along the Lost Coast by strong implication.
